A. PURPOSE OF THE COURSE

“There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them” (1 Cor. 12:4). The Spirit is ONE but the same spirit has endowed His chosen ones with different abilities, gifts and talents. God has a purpose for bestowing any gift or talent upon a believer. And all gifts and talents are given only to accomplish His will upon the earth – “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” In order to bring His will to bear upon the earth God has distributed gifts and talents to the believers that each one according to his ability might carry out what God’s plan dictates. We see this in the life of the prophet Balaam- “But Balaam answered, “Even if Balak gave me all the silver and gold in his palace, I could not do anything great or small to go beyond the command of the Lord my God” (NUMBERS 22:18).

At Emet University, our main purpose in this course is to help each student discover his or her gift and talent and to develop that gift/talent for God’s glory. God has certainly placed many wonderful gifts and talents at our disposal. The questions we need to ask ourselves are: 1. What gift or talent do I have? 2. Am I using my time and effort to develop that gift/talent? 3. Am I using that gift/talent for God’s Glory (or self-glory)? 4. Am I blessed by this gift/talent? 5. Am I blessing others through my gift/talent? 6. What is God’s plan for this gift/talent that I have? 7. Am I being accountable to the gifts/talents given to me?

 

Dear believer, if you are struggling to find answers to those questions, then we lovingly encourage you to enrol in this course to obtain those answers. We assure you that you will be delighted to discover your gifts/talents and learn to use them to bring Him more glory! Paul urges each one of us: “Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit” (1 Cor. 14:1). Come to Emet with a spirit of anticipation, come with a spirit to eagerly desire and ask for a gift. Jesus is willing to give to those who ask: “If you, then, ... know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” (MATTHEW 7:11)
