School of

Evangelism & Discipleship

Mat. 28:19-20

A. PURPOSE OF THE COURSE

Emet University International gives utmost importance to Evangelism & Discipleship for this is the mandate given by our Lord: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:19-20). In obedience to His Word and command, we have meticulously designed a course for those who are willing to heed this clarion call from the Lord, and in these last days, come forward to fulfil that mandate!

Evangelism is an engaging presentation of our faith in word, deed and relationship as outlined in the Gospels by Jesus Himself. At Emet, we teach students to integrate evangelism and discipleship into a lifestyle that the evangelist may be seen as a living Gospel.

Our objectives are to help students understand:

  • the process of salvation by faith

  • the various methods of evangelism

  • the key aspects of discipleship

  • the educational factors contributing to an effective environment

  • the methods to integrate both evangelism & discipleship

Paul in his letter to the Romans writes: “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God” (Rom. 10:17). That we are living at a time when people need the Lord more than ever is strongly felt in the lyrics penned by Greg Nelson in his song, “People Need the Lord”.

“Every day they pass me by,

I can see it in their eyes
Empty people filled with care,

Headed who knows where
On they go through private pain,

Living fear to fear
Laughter hides their silent cries
Only Jesus hears

We are called to take His light,
To a world where wrong seems right
What could be too great a cost for,
Sharing life with one who’s lost
Through His love our hearts can feel,
All the grief they bear
They must hear the words of life
Only we can share”

Refrain: People need the Lord, people need the Lord
When will we realize that we must give our lives, For people need the Lord

Believer, are those words stirring up your heart? Are you willing to obey the command of the Lord? Are you willing to share the Word? Are you willing to be sent? Paul is almost pleading here with the Romans: “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent?” (Rom. 10:13-15). Believer, we urge you to enrol in this course “so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” to serve the Lord and ‘bear much fruit’ for Him and His Glory!
